Monthly proud mama moment! Very very proud! I don’t even know where to start…
𝐉𝐂𝐇 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲 ~Elda~ (Rysiek x Baltika) in at breed specialty under the specialist judge at her 15 months… 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 and… 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 out of 26 entries and against fully mature dogs, this little baby took it all!

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 ~Mango~ (Zahir x Panda) in beaten her daddy in BOB competition again and 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 but what almost made me cry was when I translated her critique:
3 years old, appealing feminine whole, wedge-shaped head, correct bite, large nose, well-placed ears, good stop, excellent neck, good width of chest, well-defined forechest, appropriate bone structure, well-set and well-carried tail, moves lightly, energetically, and gracefully around the ring where one can easily see she could run all day, a pleasure to have judged her, good temperament.

And cherry on top, my own Grizzly this week did very well too taking Best of Breed and BALTIC WINNER ‘26 title here in Lithuania.

2026.08.10: THE HISTORICAL ACHIEVEMENT!
Yakutian laika recently was recognized in United Kingdom and can be shown there. We couldn't even dream that the kid born at our home will go that far!

Making him first in history Yakutian laika winning group in UK History been made! And it’s been made by our beloved child.
2026.07.29: What a trip it was!
Some weekends are just dates on a calendar—and some are the ones we can’t wait to begin and don’t want to end.
Last weekend was definitely the second one.
This time, we traveled to the V Group Festival—or should I better call it a celebration?
This show was sitting on a top of my bucketlist for so long that I even moved summer puppy plans to the end of the year so I could attend it

On top of that we had a chance to have a vacation in magnificent Austria, country beautiful in everything: be it nature or cities, country which makes you wish you could come back here each year.

The picture is taken before the storm started, during BIS we had to swim throught the ring although, I am proud of Grizzly, he is machine and proved that he can work under any weather conditions.
2026.06.25: Some things which makes us endlessly proud
I celebrate and I am happy about each of my children win and achievement, be it shows, sports or something else, I am proud of each of them.
But today I received the message from Stormie’s (he is from our last Grizzly x Ursa litter) owner which made me so proud and happy.
Storm’s owner is a teacher and in their country dogs are allowed to go to the class. When Kristin first wrote me, me who doesn’t trust people from first sight, completely fell in love with this family. Kristin explained me that puppy will join the classes and will work with the kids. And this is the message (one of many I receive often) I got yesterday evening:
Met this kid today, going to start in my class in August. He’s autistic, does not talk to people he don’t know. Well, that’s was until I pulled Storm out of the hat. Gave the kid som treats, tok him and Storm for a walk. And the kid talked, laugh, and engaged with Storm, and me. That’s why we need dogs in that classroom!
I think it is biggest achievement. Yes, all wins must be celebrated, but biggest joy for a breeder is understanding that you could help change someone’s life, be it dog’s family or other people moment of joy while meeting the dog. For me primary dog function always was emotional support they give to us, the moments of happiness they bring and it should never be forgotten. Breeding is difficult, it has many painful and hard moments. But it has many bright sides like this one.
Proud mamma today and everyday.
2026.06.24: Happy birthday to RocketBears and Ursa!
Exactly 3 years ago on this magical Midsummer night my fiercest rocket was born.
Happy birthday to all B’s - we love you endlessly.
Forever and everyday grateful to Melanie Holebæk and family for sharing Danish rocket Zahir with us and making this miracle possible.
She’s Ursa, she’s Mongun Taiga Bear Way or a Highway. She’s loud, fast and she proved us - it’s Bear Way or a Highway, no other way. And we love her to bits.
Even her mother who gives hell to everyone around still understands that it’s her silly child - Ursa is always protected and loved by Panda when others are strictly kept on their toes by the Queen.
Thank you for coming into my life. You really brought some colours into it!
2026.06.12: Our children proving that they are the best once again!
Monthly proud mamma overview! even if I am busy 24/7 past months, I am still trying to find some time to highlight achievements of the kids and take a moment to celebrate their success.
𝐏𝐁𝐈𝐒 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐉𝐂𝐇 𝐂𝐇 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐳𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐎𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 ~Taiylun~ in the Netherlands while being only 17 months old… took 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏 in a huge lineup of 24 breeds. So young and so beautiful as always we are very proud of our Queens team.

2026.06.02: A very important meeting!
This weekend, we had the honour of meeting Pauline Luxmoore-Ball, who is the Patron of the Yakutian Laika Club in the United Kindgom

I am always so happy to meet people who are involved in our breed! I think it is very important to meet, talk and keep contact - this helps us to improve and exchange knowledge.
2026.05.19: Just a crazy weekend at the biggest show in Poland!
We have attended the biggest show of a year in Poland. And the results are simply unbelievable!

Honestly, I haven’t planned to show her until she will reach veteran age soon. But she looks so well now that it felt like a huge mistake not to show her last time in Champion class. She worked so well for her age and I really can’t wait to start veteran class with her She is a legendary dog and world needs to see how legends looks like.
This weekend was unbelievable, our dogs again showed their class and proved that they are the best of the best!

And last but not least 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐚 𝐘𝐮 𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 ~Yu~ whose results I haven’t updated for months… but he did very well during past shows by taking many group and junior best in show placements! Owned and handled by me of course

2026.02.23: Our dogs rocks the showrings again!
After a two-month "rest" from the show ring, we headed back out on the road! I made the trip to Valga, Estonia—my longest solo trip to date. Navigating the Nordic winter roads was a challenge, but I am as proud of surviving the drive as I am of the dogs' incredible performances!

Yu is truly a gift from heaven. I feel so blessed to have him in my life; watching him succeed at this level is a dream come true. To me, he is still my goofy baby, so hearing such lovely compliments about him from judges and spectators at every show feels very special.

2026.02.15: F puppies packing their luggage!
All of our F-Rocket puppies have already found their perfect forever families!
The "luggage packing" begins next month as they start their journeys to their new homes. There is one exception: Shelby the Mustang will be staying with us at Mongun Taiga a little longer. She is heading to a new homeland with stricter import requirements, so we are ensuring all her paperwork and preparations are handled with the utmost care.
Looking Forward: Our Plans for 2026 / 2027
Our next litters are planned for the end of 2026/ beginning of 2027. We have decided to take this time to give our dogs—and ourselves—a proper rest.
I have always maintained a firm belief: constantly having puppies does no good for the breed. When a kennel is perpetually "full," adults stop getting the individual attention they deserve, and puppies may not receive the deep, one-on-one socialization required to become balanced companions.
Real breeding decisions require time, clear thinking, and observation—not just an empty whelping box. At Mongun Taiga, a good pairing is planned and scrutinized a hundred times over. We do not produce on a schedule; we produce for quality and the future of the Yakutian Laika.
Although the whelping boxes are quiet for now, the plans for next year are already in progress. Stay tuned!
2026.02.03: Our breeding Yakutian laikas are on top again!
We just received incredible news from the north! Our breeding boy Poju (officially known as JBIS Multi JCH/CH Mongun Taiga Bogd Tavan Victorious Flame) has officially been ranked as the TOP #1 Yakutian Laika in Finland!
I want to send a huge congratulations to his owner, Anita. This prestigious victory is a direct result of your hard work, dedication, and the love you pour into him every day. We are incredibly proud to have a Mongun Taiga dog representing the breed at the highest level in Finland.
I chose to share this specific "action" photo from Anita’s profile rather than a perfectly stacked show picture. This is exactly what Poju and our dogs are meant to be: Rockets! Poju is sired by the world-renowned Zahir (the "Danish Rocket") and is out of our beautiful Queen Panda.
The success doesn't stop there! Neera (JCH Mongun Taiga Chyon Blondes Takes It All) also made us proud by ranking as the TOP #2 Junior in the country. A heartfelt thank you to her owner, Sina, for your incredible dedication and care for our girl.
With these results, I have a strong feeling that the coming year is going to be something truly special for the Mongun Taiga family!
2026.01.19: Great news for our Yakutian laika F litter!
All puppies from our F litter underwent official BAER testing to confirm their hearing status. I am thrilled to announce that every single puppy received a result of BAER +/+ (Normal Hearing).
Beyond the medical results, I am incredibly proud of their temperaments. We took the whole litter on a long car trip to the clinic, and their behavior was perfect:
Not a single puppy suffered from motion sickness or car stress.
Every "Rocket" remained happy, confident, and social at the veterinary clinic.
Health and temperament are the pillars of our breeding program at Mongun Taiga. Seeing these pups handle new environments with such ease makes me even more confident in their future as both working dogs and family companions.

2026.01.12: A Historic Weekend at IDS Gdynia!
A son of legends, writing his own legend — beyond anything I dared to dream…
The moments I will remember forever from IDS Gdynia are not because of Grizzly this time, but because of his son. It was a weekend where the "torch was passed" in the most beautiful way possible.
One wise man, our teacher Viktoras Avtusko, once said: “If anyone could truly beat Grizzly, it would only be his own son.” I knew it would happen one day, but I probably wasn’t mentally prepared for it to happen so soon.
On both days of the competition, our young Yu stood at the top, winning the breed over his legendary father — the dog who has achieved so much and stands at the very top of the Yakutian Laika breed.
